Although there is no formal Senior Golf League, we have a very active and social group of senior golfers. They do organize a Senior Tournament in mid-August with a banquet. |
| Golf Lessons | |
Mark Martin is our teaching professional. He is short game specialist and incorporates state of the art technology in his teaching methods. Lessons are for members only and arrangements are made directly with Mark. |
| Swimming Lessons | |
Our lifeguards offer both group and private lessons. Group lessons are held before the pool opens at 11:00 AM. Six, one-half hour lessons are held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (Fridays are used as makeup days if a lesson has to be cancelled due to bad weather). Groups usually consist of 4-6 children. We use the Red Cross format and offer lessons to all ages and abilities. Private lessons are arranged between the club member and lifeguard. |
| Swim Team | |
The “Gators” swim in the Mountain High Swim League, and compete against other area pools. Practice begins in mid-May after school hours. Once school ends, practice is in the mornings between 6:30 and 9:30. Meets are held on Saturday mornings in June and July. Our typical team involves over 100 kids of all ages and abilities. We employ 3-4 coaches who are usually former swim team members. This is a recreational team with the main emphasis on having fun and self-improvement. During the season there are pancake breakfasts, pep rallies, potlucks, a trip to Water World, and a year-end Awards Banquet. Volunteer parental involvement is required. The Gators website is sgccgators.org. |
| Tennis Lessons | |
Rocky Mountain Tennis Academy is a local company that offers our members professional lessons on our courts. All arrangements are made between the club member and Rocky Mountain Tennis Academy. |
| Social Events | |
The club hosts several social events throughout the season. In May we come together for a Member Workday that involves members volunteering their time and skills to help spruce up the club. Food and drinks are provided. Our July 4th party is always well attended. Besides a free hot dog lunch, there are numerous games and activities by the pool. Other events may include parties, bingo nights, movie nights and ice cream socials. |
